During June 17-19 INYCA plan to celebrate their 3rd year partnership with IU,
During PESI -  PE Teachers conference in Indianapolis, more teachers are expected to join school cricket program. INYCA rolled school cricket program in 243 schools & 357 teachers (71 are now “Basics of Cricket” Certified” )in Indiana with PESI initial rapid boost of 74 teachers last year.

PESI summer event provides great opportunity to interact many PE teachers from the state of Indiana at same time which saves many in school clinics and volunteer time to reach them. With this year’s event we also plan to kick start “Advanced  cricket” & “Umpiring Basics” clinics during this summer which will help/support our plan for T10 Inter school program launch for 2013-14 school year. It’s great opportunity for all PE teachers to grab their FREE USYCA cricket sets with training instructions, in addition to that we are adding “Basics of Cricket” for them to attend this summer.
as per USYCA policy - FREE cricket sets are always available but limited to 1 FREE set per school per teacher(s). also only for those who never received their cricket set in last 3 years.

Sport Cricket is back in Fort Wayne

During 1995 group of people from India organized to launch local cricket team called Fort Wayne cricket club (FWCC) to compete at the higher level and later become the first team from Indiana to participate in Columbus, Ohio based Midwest Cricket Tournament. Team made it to the play offs many times before they shut down their team in late 2003 where they did not compete in Midwest Cricket Tournament due to lack of talented players in the area. During those years FWCC also become the 1st team from Indiana to reach Championship game in any out of state major cricket tournament.

Recently, Fort Wayne area local cricket (recreational) teams Panthers & Warriors joined together to bring North East Indiana Cricket Camp to launch youth cricket program for the community and local schools.

Ajay Lakhe of Indiana Youth Cricket Association organized the local camp with primary interest to develop youth cricket team as well as coaching mantras to local cricket players & parents to become future youth cricket coaches. Camp was at the full capacity which was lead by Jatin Patel, vice president US Youth Cricket Asociation.
Everyone at the camp – enjoyed and excited to learn the game and hope to continue from this level to the future of youth cricket here in Fort Wayne area. Youth cricket team and coaching plans are all ready in place for this winter in Fort Wayne area.

Re-birth of Cricket in Fort Wayne is another milestone to become the 1st youth team in Indiana. Ajay Lakhe, is well trained coach in the area who is working with Jatin Patel, ICC certified coach in Indiana are working together to provide all needed training to the youth.

It’s true, game learning is always fun and any one can teach some cricket skills to young kids. Parents are good coach for their kids and may be mom is the best coach, few moms enjoyed cricket camp with learning something new and ready to help young ones …. Let’s bring cricket to our family and community. It’s fun.

Comments from Parents:

Dawn Scope: I took my son and his two friends to camp in November.  This was the first time they had been introduced to Cricket.  They had a little trouble starting out, but by the end of the camp they were able to hit the balls and were having fun.  The camp was great!

Pramod Jonnala: I think this cricket camp had been very productive for the kids, as kids here are mostly confined to baseball & football, cricket being an International sport is something they need to look forward and I am glad to see many locals started enquiring about the sport.
